Sappho: my only home is the border

saphoTaking advantage of the appearance of his new album Velvet sour earth, recover the interview he granted me Sappho in the year 2004. Really do not know how this text may still contain, but certainly the picture still seems impossible to an amazing woman.

Bean French Moroccan tradition, Palestinian political activist pro, cultural agitator, rock, painter, writer, actress; total character, an amalgam of extremes: exalted by the bourgeoisie rebel, warm proudly, sagacious, impulsive, crazy, inexorably closer diva. Causing an extremely extreme reactions among the public: or unconditional love, or outright rejection.

“I was lucky to be born in Marrakech, (where I was too Jewish to be Moroccan), and having studied in France, (which was too French for Moroccan), so I've always been out of place. Uprooting is often painful, but it is fascinating to be between two worlds and participate in both”.

…Arafat will, do not be negative…

saphoWith a smile I get notice of the appearance of a new album Sappho. ¡Sapho! The first time she was in collided with the Fez Festival, Morocco, perhaps in the year 2004. He starred in this festival one of the most memorable insults against untouchable figure Umm Kelthouma, butchering one of his songs (Alf include purple purple?) based on stage of tune, outbursts and aphonia. And I am convinced that it did so without any conscious punk. The public reacted badly but some hallucinate, as hallucinations with Rachid Taha charging, with all due respect, a Abdel Halim Hafez. What are the myths, finally, but to make use of them?
