Pure and imperfect Catalan People

duran i lleidaDuran i Lleida is concerned about the demographic decline of Catalan. I understand: is the small vision of the world that have the Pure People. We gave them fear being charnegos and now face worse. Mohammed to llaman. The Other.

“Under the Empordà, Mohamed”. Thus the title of the Pure Man an entry in his blog that he regrets that most babies are born in Catalonia immigrant mothers. He reflects: “I think we have a problem of birth, a major demographic problem, and I think also we have as Catalans. I know there are people who does not care and they even say that I am racist, but I think we should worry that generational change is making people go out”.

Where do I start? Definitely confirm the Pure Man that, effectively, his is racism. High intensity, also. I would say the obvious: a boy or a girl born in Catalonia is a full Catalan. But underneath that argument makes no sense.

#Palestina194… and the moon

larissa sansour space exodusWhile still debated whether the recognition of a state in that territory would be impossible for Palestine today would actually be an improvement, we have found that, equally, not happen. And as I read the analysis of bloggers and journalists1, comes to mind the work of Palestinian artists Larissa Sansour whose images always end up being painfully successful. Ironic, funny and terrible. Today I leave the video titled Exodus Space, where a Sansour become an astronaut reaches the moon. “A small jump for a Palestinian, one giant leap for mankind”, says, paraphrase Neil Armstrong to the moon landing. And from there, with the flag stuck on a floor, finally, Larissa says goodbye to the land.
It seems a prophecy: the UN proposal today is little more than that. No land, sorry. Seen in this, may have to be Moon.
